Marcus has spent the last twelve years building software and content in personal finance, first as a senior engineer at a mid-sized fintech platform focused on mortgage origination workflows, then as an independent product lead building consumer-facing calculators. He founded US Mortgage Tools in 2026 with a simple goal: build the honest, math-first version of the calculators that dominate the top of Google, the ones that hide the numbers behind email signups.
Marcus writes an initial draft using primary sources (CFPB, IRS, HUD, state DOR publications), then hands it to a subject-matter reviewer, a licensed loan originator for mortgage content, or a CFP® practitioner for tax content, before publication. He does not accept payment to feature a lender or product.
